Facilities
The historic, spacious and central setting of St. John’s church complex makes it an ideal location to host weekly classes, occasional meetings, or an indoor sporting or artistic event.
St. John’s parish halls are available for hire on a regular basis or for single occasions to approved organisations or groups, subject to production of a current public liability insurance certificate with minimum of $5,000,000 liability.
Stair lifts, accessible from the entrance to the halls off the upper carpark at the rear of the church, give easy access to the War Memorial Hall and the Upper Room. Toilet facilities are available near the entrance.
Note that limited car parking is available in the church grounds. St. John’s is conveniently located near the Gordon train station and its adjacent public car park and the Gordon shops.
Please check out the links below and contact the Parish Secretary for further details and cost for rental. Tables and chairs are available for use in all rooms. Setting up of the venue to the hirer’s requirements and restoration to its pre-use condition is the responsibility of the hirer.

WAR MEMORIAL HALL
This large Hall comfortably seats 200 and has a full-width stage accessible from the floor of the Hall, as well as from the side and rear of the stage itself. The Hall has fans, a basketball hoop, and a mirrored wall. Use of the installed sound and projection system is available upon request.
UPPER ROOM
The Upper Room is a smaller venue which seats up to 75. With direct access to the stage of the War Memorial Hall, it can double as a back-stage facility for performers.
CRYPT
The Crypt below the church is accessible by stairs from the Upper Room, via the church vestibule or directly from the carpark. The Crypt is suitable for gatherings of up to 50 seated, or perhaps for use as a rehearsal room.
KITCHEN
The use of the kitchen, conveniently located for all three venues, is available at a separate charge.
It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the kitchen is used appropriately and left in a clean and orderly state. An extra cleaning fee will be assessed if deemed necessary.
CARPARK
Spaces in St. John’s lower car park (entrance from St. Johns Avenue) may be leased from Monday to Friday, subject to availability.
The leasing fee currently is $100.00 per month per space, GST inclusive.
