Children & Teens
At St John’s we value the involvement of our young people and children. Sunday School operates during term times in conjunction with our 9:30AM Eucharist.
As an inclusive Eucharistic community we value our children and young people worshipping together with the parish family. Children who attend Sunday School remain in church at the 9:30AM Eucharist until the Gospel, hear a children’s talk from the celebrant, then head off to Sunday School. They return for the Eucharistic prayers and to receive Holy Communion or a blessing (if they have not yet been admitted to Holy Communion).
Children are encouraged to receive their first Holy Communion when they reach Primary or Junior School age and then to be confirmed when they are in their early teenage years.
For more information on Sunday School, first Holy Communion and confirmation, contact the church office at 9498 2744 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Many of our young people are Altar Servers, lead Sunday School, sing in the choir or read a lesson at our Sunday Eucharist.
