Sometimes we just get stuck in our relationship with Jesus. Advent reminds us that it is necessary to change direction from time to time. This is a slightly different sermon to the 0800 Sermon on the same topic.
One of the messages in Advent is about changing direction. Sometimes we get stuck where we are in our relationship with God, and Advent is a great opportunity to reflect on that, and hopefully change direction and get to our destination, new life in Christ.
In his second sermon for Christ the King Bp Michael reflects on the Kingdom of God theme and how this kingdom is made real through the Kingship of Jesus, and our need to submit to his rule.
The Feast of Christ the King is a relatively new innovation, introduced by Pope Pius in the interwar years. It was at the time of the rise of Fascism and he wanted the church to reflect on who was the real king, not the pretenders that were rising up around the world. The same is […]

In Mk 9:30-37 there is a question amongst the disciples about who is the greatest? Jesus places a child in their midst and gives them a compelling answer. […]

1John 4:15-5:15. Here John reminds us of our need to love one another and God because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. The best audio visual we have to do that and express that is through the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
